SLV Big White Brochure 2022

CUSTOMER INFORMATION

Information regarding light housing heat generation Halogen lamps operate at high temperatures and can lead to the heating of the housing of the light fixture. They should therefore only be touched once the housing has cooled down. Adjustable lights and light heads that do not feature insulated positioning levers, or which exceed the maximum permissible hous- ing temperature at the positioning point when operated at maximum wattage, should also be mounted out of reach. LED retrofit lamps offer a low-tempera- ture alternative to most of our halogen lights.

Luminous flux The total amount of light produced by a light source is given in lumens (lm).

Luminosity The luminosity is the luminous flux indicated per solid angle and is expressed in candelas (cd). Colour rendering index The colour rendering property of a light source is indicated by the Colour Rendering Index (CRI). A CRI of 80 or higher is required for light sources used indoors. Light sources used outdoors must have a CRI of at least 65.

Colour temperature The colour temperature of a light source is indicated in K (Kelvin).

Standard LED This is the classic version of the LED (3 mm or 5 mm LED). These were originally developed for indication purposes, e.g. in instrument panels. Standard SMD LED SMD means "Surface Mounted Device". This is a compact LED that is soldered directly onto the circuit board without wire connections. SMDs are available in different sizes and are suitable for lighting purposes. PowerLED PowerLED is a high-performance LED with a power of 1W or more. It places increased demands on current constancy and should therefore always be op- erated with constant current sources. If you with to connect several LEDs, they must therefore be connected in series. A parallel connection is not permitted. Please ensure that you observe the installation sequence so that the LEDs are not exposed to high current for a short time, which could damage them. Ultimately, the following rule applies: first you should completely connect the secondary circuit (LEDs to driver), then you should close the primary circuit (driver to power source). Chip On Board LED (COB LED); Large surface LED This is an LED with an exceptionally flat shape. The advantage of COB LEDs is good heat dissipation when technically implemented with cooling surfaces, which enables high light output and a long lifespan. Stainless Steel 304 (1.4301) Good resistance to corrosion is shown in natural environmental media (water, urban and rural atmosphere) in the absence of significant chlorine and salt concentrations. 1.4301 is, however, not suitable for use in areas where there is contact with seawater, salt water or a salty atmosphere, or for use in swimming pools or similar contexts. Stainless Steel 316 (1.4404) In natural environmental media (water, urban and rural atmosphere) as well as in industrial areas with moderate chlorine and salt concentration, in the food and pharmaceutical industry and in the agricultural food sector, 1.4404 shows excellent resistance to corrosion. 1.4404 is not resistant to seawater.

All prices are recommended retail prices (GBP) and indicated in Euro without VAT.
