JCC Catalogue 34 2023

Emergency Lighting Ready for an emergency Emergency light fittings include a battery as a backup power source that is continuously charged and can tell when the power has failed, immediately switching to use the backup battery. The battery needs to power the light fitting for a minimum of 3 hours. The light output from the fitting is reduced, often to around 10% of the normal light output.

MAINTAINED FITTING A maintained fitting will operate as normal and continue to operate should the mains power fail. It acts as a mains light and an emergency light. It can be controlled with all the other lights in the area. NON-MAINTAINED FITTING Non-maintained fittings remain switched off and only operate when the mains power supply fails, using its battery supply. Non-maintained fittings are not part of the general lighting but are fittings such as emergency exit signs. All JCC emergency light fittings can operate as a maintained and non-maintained light.

SELF-TEST Self-Test is an intelligent emergency module that automatically carries out routine functional and duration testing. If a fault is detected, the self-test system will display a visual indication of a fault.
