As every installation is different, it is important to choose the correct commercial downlight for the environment you are working with to ensure the best possible results.

Things to consider when choosing your commercial downlight

Follow the simple questions below to ascertain which commercial downlight is ideal for your installation. Then use the table to establish the part code of the required product.

What type of dimming do you need?

Do you need an emergency pack?

Is it a retro-fit & has a hole diameter of 240-290mm?

What wattage do you need?

Mains

You will need to consider the distance between your light fittings. The greater the distance between products, the higher wattage product you will need to illuminate the room. The smaller the distance between products, the lower the wattage product you will need to illuminate the room.

In the event of a power outage, your emergency lighting system will illuminate a safe evacuation route from commercial and high occupancy buildings such as office spaces, hospitals and hotels.

When retro-fitting commercial downlights, the previous downlight may have required a larger hole than is needed for our products. For such instances, we have a converter plate that enables you to install our commercial downlight by creating an additional surface area for the product to slot in to. Our convertor plate is compatible with the 24W and 32W Thea commercial downlights.

If your product has an integrated, mains dimmable driver, no separate driver is required. This is classed as a ‘straight to mains’ product.

DALI

A DALI system can be structured in a way which allows LEDs to respond to certain rooms or zones. Each LED in the same zone will dim an equal amount.

1-10V

The 1-10V system allows all the LEDs which are connected to the 1-10V driver dim to an equal amount. Up to 10 power supplies can be linked to one dimmer for dimming multiple fittings.
