Falkland House School
Case Study
The Solution A range of luminaires throughout the site, including Vasco Evo in the classrooms and Eclipse bulkheads for external areas. Unifying the entire scheme was Ansell's OCTO wireless smart lighting system, meshed with Tridonic's control infrastructure to create a single dashboard for the whole site. OCTO enabled scene-setting across different zones—automatically switching classrooms off outside teaching hours and dimming external lighting when not required, cutting energy waste and minimising light pollution. The Result The school now has a fully controllable, energy optimised lighting environment managed from one central point. The OCTO-powered system reduces energy waste, supports predictive maintenance and extends the working life of every fitting—proving that smart lighting and heritage architecture are a natural fit. The Project Falkland House School, originally built in the 1860s, required a smart, fully controllable lighting solution that could meet modern illumination needs, minimise energy usage and seamlessly blend with the sensitivity of the building's historic heritage.
