The Alsion Centre

The Solution Ansell Lighting supplied the P-Cell IP20 RGB system, installed within the vertical recesses of the entrance's distinctive concrete pillars to deliver vivid, high-impact colour-changing illumination. Unifying the scheme was Ansell's OCTO Smart Control System, giving staff intuitive, app-based control to select colours, set dynamic scenes, schedule changes, and fine-tune brightness - all from a smartphone or tablet- whether for a symphony concert, university ceremony, or seasonal display. The Result The Alsion Centre now has a flexible, visually striking entrance environment that can be transformed at the touch of a button. The OCTO-powered P-Cell installation delivers reliable, energy-efficient performance suited to a busy public space, while giving the centre's team the freedom to tailor the atmosphere to any occasion - proving that cutting edge smart lighting and landmark architecture are a natural partnership. The Project The Alsion Centre in Sønderborg, Denmark, is a striking cultural and educational landmark housing the University of Southern Denmark, the South Jutland Symphony Orchestra, and a range of public facilities. Designed by 3XNielsen, the centre's bold modern architecture called for a dynamic entrance lighting solution — one capable of supporting diverse events and moods while sitting sympathetically within the building's clean aesthetic.
